Live Rock is the foundation of a great marine aquarium, and will act as a biological filter when you have an ample amount as suggested below.
These are rocks removed from the vicinity of a tropical coral reef with all of the life intact on them.
They commonly have algae, sponges, worms, feather dusters, small crustaceans, polyps and urchins on them.
Suggested amount:
1kg per 2 gallons/9 litres.
